A reunion for the Griggsville Class of 1970 is being held Saturday, July 11 from 5 to 8 pm at the Red Apple Room at 40570 243rd Avenue in Pittsfield. Social time will be 5-6 pm and the meal will begin at 6 pm. Class members are asked to contact Mary Dunmire at 217-473-3430 for reservations asap. Any questions call Mary.
Western Illinois Fair is June 24-28. Grounds are being prepared and improvements made to grandstand, barns and camping area.

Livestock shows are throughout the week at newly renovated barns and shows also at Griggsville American Legion.
Bands have been contracted for the pavilion for Friday and Saturday nights.
BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) Book Fair will be at Griggsville School Wednesday, May 13 through Friday, May 15. Wednesday & Friday the book fair will be open from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Thursday the book fair will be open from 1-3 pm and reopen that evening from 5-7 pm. Family Event will be on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm.
Griggsville-Perry High School students are trying to receive a grant from the Midwest Technical Institute for $10,000 to upgrade school and supplies. Students have put together a video which shows need for the grant. Voting is from April 6 – May 4. Winners will be announced May 6.

The Griggsville-Perry FFA will have its annual greenhouse plant sale Friday, May 1, 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm and Saturday, May 2, 9 am to 12 pm. Additional dates will be announced next week. Large assortments of annuals, vegetables, and hanging baskets. Proceeds go to support Griggsville-Perry FFA Leadership Programs.
The Western IL Fair is seeking contestants for the 2015 Queen and Princess Pageants. The queen contestants must be between the ages of 16-21. The princess contestants must be ages 5-6. The contestants may reside in the counties of Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Morgan, Pike or Scott. The queen contest offers a $1,000 scholarship along with cash and prizes. On Tuesday, December 16 beginning at 6 pm, the Tornadoes will play at home vs Pittsfield. Admission will be a toy to donate for the G-P Toy Drive to benefit the Griggsville-Perry School District Christmas Families. One adult or child admission free per toy. Also on that night, Team Impact will hold it’s annual Cookie Walk from 3:30 pm until the end of the game.
If you would like to donate cookies, please bring them to Kayt Risley on Monday, December 15. OTSD will be at the game that night handing out goodies.
The Griggsville United Methodist Women invite you to attend their annual “Carols of Christmas” Bazaar on Friday, November 21 from 10 am to 2 pm. Doors open at 10 am and lunch will begin at 11 am with soup, sandwiches, desserts and drinks. Items for sale will include homemade candies, yeast breads, cakes, cookies, tea rings and other assorted dessert items. There will be live music from 11 am to 1 pm. Pancake and Sausage Breakfast will be held Saturday, November 15, 8-11 am at the Griggsville-Perry High School cafeteria. Free will donation and proceeds will go to purchase gifts for the Griggsville-Perry Christmas Program. This is their only fundraiser, so come on out and show your support!
