Kelly Miller Circus, Griggsville IL, Griggsville Illinois, Pike County IL, Pike Co IL, Pike County Happenings, pikecountyhappenings.com

Griggsville-Perry Athletic Boosters are sponsoring the Kelly Miller Circus Monday, October 5.  Everyone is invited to come out and watch the animals being unloaded and fed, witness the raising of the big top, followed by a special Tiger Meet and Greet.

Activites will begin at 7:30 am and the tent will be raised at 9 am.  Guides will be furnished for school groups and anyone attending.

The traditional “old style” circus will present performance at 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm.  Support the Griggsville-Perry Athletic Boosters – buy your tickets in advance and save.  Tickets can be purchased at Griggsville City Hall, Farmers National Bank (all 4 branches) and online at www.kellymillercircus.com.

Tickets can be purchased at Farmers National Bank of Griggsville.  Adults (ages 12 and up) are $12 and children (ages 2-11) are $6.  The last day to purchase will be on October 2nd.

From the Kelly Miller Circus website: The circus travels on a fleet of 36 vehicles and requires an area of 350’ by 350’ to set up on. The colorful circus big top has a seating capacity of 1100 and is made of waterproof vinyl. The tent is 120’ by 120’ and is 40’ high and is supported by more than a quarter of a mile of heavy gauge aluminum tubing as well as several miles of rope, steel cable and chain. In 2007, another exciting chapter in its history began when the show was purchased by John Ringling North II. Mr. North’s great uncles were the famous Ringling Brothers, his grandmother, their only sister. Born into this most famous of circus families, John grew up on the “Greatest Show on Earth”, learning circus operation from his father Henry Ringling North, and Uncle John Ringling North. He is dedicated to the circus, always seeking ways to improve it. Mr. North can be seen at most performances watching the show with a critical eye.

They will be playing Thursday evening.
