The Nebo Community Club Annual Memorial Day Dinner will be held Saturday, May 23 from 11am – 1pm. Donations accepted. Veterans eat free! The menu is ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, hot rolls and desserts.
Pike County Sheriff’s Department responded to 235 West Middle Street in Nebo on a complaint of criminal damage to property. On April 24, between the hours of 6 pm and 7 pm, the window of a 1989 Chevrolet pickup was broken out.
If you have information on this or any other crimes taking place in Pike County, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 217-285-1500. All calls are anonymous, and if tips lead to an arrest, you will be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
A big Rib Fest cook-out and concert will be happening in Nebo, Illinois in support of the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
Saturday, May 23 is the day at Heartland Sunset Valley Lodge at 38789 115th Avenue, outside of Nebo. A free will donation will be accepted for the Wounded Warrior Foundation, with gates opening at 9:00 a.m. and opening ceremonies beginning at 9:30 a.m.
1,200 pounds of ribs will be cooked up, plus hot dogs, brats and side dishes.
Live music will start at 10:00 a.m. Bands include, The Harmans, Black Suede Band, Stomping Ground and Country Soul. Music will go on until 7:30 p.m.

The Nebo Baptist Church is having a “Life Conference” April 12-16 at 7:30 pm. The conference will feature guest speakers along with special music. Refreshments and fellowship will follow. Everyone is invited to attend this special event. If you have any questions call the church at 217-734-2572.

Illinois Department of Natural Resources Hunter Safety Course is February 26, 6-9 pm and February 28, 8 am – 4 pm at the Nebo D.O.G. House, 163rd South Main St, Nebo. Lunch will be served at Saturday session.
Pre-registration is required. The first 60 people to register will only be accepted, due to space limitations. It’s that time of year again for the great Pike County Color Drive! This is the 26th year for the Color Drive and each year brings amazing things to see, do and eat. Nebo will be serving their famous fish sandwiches and selling apple butter this weekend! There will also be a petting zoo, pony rides, hay scramble and several vendors. Be sure to stop by the welcome booth for your stamp!
Lots to see in this small, idyllic town! Don’t pass through without stopping for some delicious food and great finds with antiques and finds at the old Odd Fellows Hall just west of the park and the great food vendors. Something for everyone in this picturesque spot!

Pittsfield FFA will be selling chili on the square.
East Pike Fire Protection District will be selling pork and BBQ brisket sandwiches on the square.
G-P FFA will be serving pork chops, ribeyes and pork burger sandwiches Saturday, Oct 18 and Sunday, Oct 19 at the Western Illinois Fairgrounds in Griggsville. They will also be serving biscuits & gravy each morning for breakfast along with coffee. Proceeds go to support the G-P FFA Leadership program and National FFA Convention. Drive-up and take out service will be available.
G-P FFA will host it’s 8th annual antique tractor show at the Western IL Fairgrounds Oct 18 & 19. Voting will take place Sunday and plaques will be awarded at 3:30. The Skinner House on North Stanford St. will be open Saturday, Oct 18 from 9 am to noon. Tour the historic house and museum room which contains Nellie Grant items and Page Hatch hand carved decoys. Homemade apple dumplings will be available.
