Parents with children with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) often feel alone & frustrated trying to understand special education law and get the most appropriate education for their children. Parents in Pike County can now find support & connection through a Facebook group called Pike IEP Parents.
According to the Facebook group description, “This is a place to share what is working and what is not so that we can all grow in our advocacy efforts for our children. Let’s share frustrations and challenges in a constructive manner so that we can support one another in resolving issues. Equally important — let’s share successes and encourage one another. This is meant to be a helpful forum for us to find each other and work together in the best interest of our children.”
If you feel this is a group that you would like to join, please request membership on their page. Click HERE to be directed to the Facebook group site.

Their budgets stretched thin enough, this time of year is even harder for them. Help support our area animal shelter now, and any time of the year! The Pike County Animal Shelter accepts dog and cat food, litter, cleaning supplies, and cash donations. If you’re so inclined, make an appointment and give one of the animals a forever home!
Contact the Pike County Animal Shelter at (217)285-4811 to see how you can help, or to make an appointment to volunteer or even adopt!
