On Saturday, May 31 the festival committee held a 50’s Sock Hop at the Baylis High Point Gym with an included dinner to help raise funds for this year’s festivities. Visitors didn’t let the storm stop them from coming and enjoying a delicious chicken and noodles dinner complete with dressing and drink. The gym was filled with the sounds of laughter and great Do-Wop music that had people dancing and twisting. For those that attended in 50’s attire, the committee had Best Dressed and Best Dancer prizes awarded. Best Dressed winners were Leni Baxter & Andy McDonald. Best Dancer winners were Roger Vedder & Kelly Hardwick. This is the third year for the festival which includes pageants, car show, live music, Old Glory Games and more! This year’s Glory Days Fall Festival will be August 8-9 with parade on Saturday at 2 pm. Donations and sponsors are needed and welcomed.
