Small towns often have the best parties, and there’s no party more fun than the Milton Corn Carnival! This year’s theme is “They’re Gonna Put Me in the Movies!” The Corn Carnival is always the fourth weekend in September. Events are held on the square in Milton. If you’re interested in being a part of the parade, be sure to call Kathy Scranton at 217-723-4048. The parade begins at 1:30 pm on Saturday and lines up at the Milton Ballpark off of Illinois Route 100.
If you’re interested in being a contestant in the Corn Carnival Talent/Lip Sync Contest, call Sherri Howland at 217-723-4311 or Carla Allen at 217-723-4484. You may leave a message. The contest is Saturday, September 27 at 5:00 pm on the square. Grand prize is $500!! Also awards for People’s Choice and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. There will be a $2 entrance fee. More information to come. Deadline to enter is September 24.
Contestants for the Milton Corn Carnival Miss Corny Contest (set for 9:00 pm on Friday, Sept 26 on the square) can enter by calling Sherri Howland at 217-723-4311 or Carla Allen at 217-723-4484, you may also leave a message. This contest hasn’t been held for several years, let’s bring it back for lots of fun. Grand prize for winning is $100 and a beautiful crown!
All pageant contestants must live in the old East Pike School District or have a parent or grandparent that lives in the district.
